Girls day out

Had a great day out with my friend Brooke. She took me out for a belated birthday celebration to the city to do lunch and shop. Started with coffee at a cool cafe in Sydney's Queen Victoria Building below. The cafe featured paintings by one of my favourite artists Klimt.

We then strolled around the shops...

...the harbour bridge and opera house...

... and ended up eating in a fancy restaurant in the Park Hyatt which is the hotel pictured below.

... below is the amazing view from our table... open air and views of the harbour...

I chose the healthy fish option (although the plate of fries we shared is out of view lol)

...and the cocktail...

...we then strolled around the Rocks Markets...

... and finished off our day in the Guylian Chocolate cafe.... mmmm
Perfect.....

Happy birthday to me!

Is my birthday today. On the bad side... had to work part of it because there was an important budget meeting... but on the plus side some of my colleagues had some nice treats waiting on my desk to make me feel better about being there (and for your info I did share the chocolate!!! lol)

Also got some lovely presents from friends waiting at home. Many of them know Im going to be a bit of a gardener while on my holidays so they gave me some great plants. The beautiful bunch of flowers were from my husband.

Ahhhh, the joys of turning 25! lol ;)

Dust Storm

I woke yesterday to find sydney aglow with an orange haze. Was amazing. The weather tells us was a dust storm which had blown in from central Australia. Here are two photos from my balcony. One on a normal day and one in the storm.

Have laptop will travel...

Spent last weekend bouncing between numerous electronics shops scrounging for the best deal for a new laptop. Had my obligatory coffee break to read the "PC Buyers Guide" mag my husband loaned me.... was rivetting!... yawn..... lol

Yesterday I finally managed to negotiate a great deal (its amazing what cleavage will get you ;) joke lol) and I can proudly say that I managed to set it all up myself... WITHOUT using a manual!! woo hoo! lol

Now I said in the title of this blog... "have laptop will travel" and admittedly so far Ive only travelled one room away to my bedroom... lol, but after having been dependent on a noisy desktop pc for years, having the freedom to use the laptop anywhere around the house and in the garden and even AWAY from home should I so wish... is exciting!

Spring...gotta love it!

Got to love spring.... the amazing smell and sight of new flowers bursting into life... the sounds of birds and the gentle breeze blowing through the trees..... Have taken to lying outside on a blanket in the weekend afternoon reading magazines and just breathing it all in.... Amazing!
