snapshots of my home life...

My life is full of colour. Fell in love with colour when I visited Mexico 10 years ago. The table cloth was purchased there and has been inspiring me ever since. Although we didnt choose the wall colours (landlord is arty too), we love them. Each wall a different colour in living and dining areas. Yellow is pretty bright, yes, but it all comes together well. I try and add my artistic touches here and there and painted that bright Love Joy Peace picture years back which hangs in our bedroom. My husbands medieval weaponry collection is also intertwined throughout our regular decor and although seemingly an odd mix, the eclectic touch works for me.

Paranoia...

Is it just me... or is Tamsin looking stressed these days? lol Perhaps its a case of transference from her manufacturer who has been struggling to complete long overdue budget paperwork! lol

Travelfest...

Well its finally happening... Ive booked a number of great getaways this year. Its all very exciting!
In one weeks time I will be heading down the coast to stay in a beach house (pictured) with my husband where I plan to forgo work budgets and spend my days swimming, walking on the beach, drinking great coffee, reading, making jewellery and painting. All in all should be very relaxing. The following weekend Im flying up the coast of Australia to Sunshine Coast to visit my mum and sister. Staying in a resort overlooking the beach again. Two weeks after that off to Chicago for work, then staying extra week with collegue/friend to go to New York and LA. And the most exciting part is that in October Im FINALLY off on my lifelong dream holiday to Italy and France (with a bit of Ireland and Wales thrown in for good measure! lol). Its gonna be one busy year. Will offer photos of highlights on here.

I HATE SPIDERS!!!

I should clarify... I dont hate ALL spiders. Little baby ones are bearable, even poisonous ones are ok so long as they are SMALL! I have had a number of experiences in life with spiders which appeared as flashbacks this week when a HUGE huntsman spider appeared on my car door! Was transporting a car full of chicks at the time and we were squealing like girls (which I suppose is normal given that we ARE girls! lol). Couldn't find it, so can only assume it is laying low, waiting to torment me again (must be male)!

I also have two shower incidents with spiders (what is it about spiders and my bathroom? lol). One was when I was in the shower and noticed a lot of small things moving across the bathroom ceiling. Upon looking closer I noticed about 200 freshly hatched little spiders making their way across my ceiling. I grabbed my towel and ran for my life. (Yes, I do realise I said I wasnt scared of small spiders, but 200 in one room! And also where they are freshly hatched, mumma spider cant be too far away! lol).

The second incident occurred after getting out of the shower and drying myself with a towel. After putting it back on the rack I noticed a big hairy huntsman spider (as pictured) crawl out from my towel! AAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its a hard SL...

my frangipani tree...

Don't have a green thumb, (more aubergine actually... lol) but did find myself doing some gardening this weekend. Took some photos. Its easy when initially looking at the garden shot to overlook the frangipani blossoms which have sprouted from a cutting I planted two years back. Looks and smells divine!

Magnificent obsession... Andrea Bocelli

My taste in music is quite eclectic, ranging from Metallica to Michael Buble'. One musician I am obsessed with though is Andrea Bocelli. I dont know what it is about him (being Italian may have something to do with it - lol), but his music entrances me. Most of the time I dont even know what he is singing about (although admittedly could read lyrics), but I'm swept away with every song he sings.

If you want to see what I'm on about, here are two links. Listen with an open mind, but make sure you play it loudly and without distraction. Let me know whether you like it or not. Am open for people to challenge me, although I warn you in advance that you will be slapped! :-)
