Where has the weekend gone? Am sure it was just Friday a minute ago!

Started sorting my life out this weekend.... filling a few boxes with stuff Ive horded over the years and want to get rid of.... a daunting task. You just never know when flourescent leg warmers will come in handy again.... better put those in the "to keep" pile... lol

So after all the real world stuff was done and dusted for the weekend, I ventured into my OTHER life.... This weekend was an awakening for me... used to think I hated house and trance music, but my mate Frankhey was Djing and it gave me a whole new appreciation for it. Cool stuff! Not sure how well I will sleep now tho... trance like songs playing over in my head.... "...must....kill... the malaysian prime minister...." lol (zoolander)

Chicks day out!

Had a great day out Saturday. I know for most of the guys reading this, a great day is sitting by the TV watching rugby and drinking beer, but for chicks its different.

Met up with a girlfriend from work to see the Sex and the City movie in a gold class cinema. So there we were reclining back in our arm chairs, nibbling on our cheese and fruit platter and drinking Midori Splice cocktails. Mmmmmmm.... Movie was great too! Its one of those rare times when RL can actually exceed the excitement of SL! lol

A place to call home...

In having always aspired to live beachfront, its been amazing to be able to play out that fantasy through SL. With thanks to my wonderful generous friend Evan, who has allowed me to flat with him (although our paths rarely cross due to timezone limitations), I find myself sitting on my balcony each night watching and listening to the waves......

And I think to myself..... what a wonderful world!...... lol

the garden...

Here is a picture of the backyard of our house to be, taken from the top balcony. Soooo big, and the pool is massive! The BBQ area is on the ground level balcony to the bottom left of the photo. I can already see how I want to transform the garden. There is a lemon tree by the back fence which Ive always dreamt of having, so that will stay. All the shrubbery to the right is elevated and I want to rip it out and replace with a row of low lying palms which will be much neater and more tropical. Im also getting rid of the old potted plants by the pool and replacing them with big bright blue modern pots. Will eventually also plant some taller trees by the back fence to shield the neighbours view. Phewwwww..... havent started and Im already feeling exhausted! lol

Long Weekend...

Dont you just love it when the government decides they are gonna add an extra day to the weekend and make it a public holiday! Woo Hoo! Quite bizarre that this holiday is in honour of the Queen's birthday (which incidentally is NOT the actual date of her birthday. NZ celebrated it last week and I dont think the UK public take a day off at all! lol). So what does one do on a long weekend? Well Ive been shopping (who needs a reason), hairdressers, caught up with friends for coffee and others for dinner, sorting stuff around the house, watching DVDs and its only half way through! Unfortunately still have to do more of that boring stuff like prepare for a work presentation this Friday. Did do something exciting tho. Booked to go for a weekend away to Melbourne with an old uni friend. She's a bit of a groupie for a UK band who she knows who are touring in July, so I agreed to join her for some fun (after all, not long before I become a responsible home owner who is counting her pennies!).
Will leave you with a photo from my SL adventure this week. Was drag racing a friend and leaving them for dead on the racetrack when SOMEHOW I ended up upside down underwater unable to move! Not the impressive finish I was after! lol

The Kiss

I love the work of artist Gustav Klimt, especially this painting called "The kiss". Have some books displaying posters of his work which I naively showed my mother one day and saw her turn her nose up at a few. Didnt notice until later, upon closer inspection, that there is actually a common theme amoung some of his work... that of females masterbating! lol Dont know how I didnt notice. Am sure Freud would have something to say about that!!! lol

surfer chick

One thing I really enjoy doing is surfing in SL. Havent done it for ages, so tonight I got back to my roots... lol

I know this picture looks very serene, but in actual fact Im plotting my next attack on the impending waves, and trying to work out how to beat the guy surfers at their own game! lol I held my own!

So you may be wondering whether I surf in RL? Shit no.... Im terrified of sharks! lol
