Weekend

Two funny incidents this weekend. Both involving my husband. (No, Im not married to Fabio, pictured above... but you'll get the drift. lol)

We were sitting in a cafe when a young waiter approached us from behind my husband and said in a cheerful voice.... "What can I get you ladies?" lol He was soooo embarrassed when he noticed that the long haired lout in front of him had a goatee (NB: Husband NOT me! lol) and it probably didnt help his or my husbands embarrassment that I was in hysterics.... lol

The second incident was when we were leaving shops and making our way to our car. I was walking a bit ahead of my husband and heard him click to unlock the car so was expecting him to be right behind me. But no... I looked back and he had openned the door of another car similar to ours and scared the friggen heck out of the guy sitting in the drivers seat who was on the phone at the time and proceeded to squeal to his friend "Helpppp... Im being carjacked!" lol Eventually my husband (the long haired lout) assured him he was NOT. lol

Holiday

Am on my one week break from work. Not quite as exciting as the long break planned in October, but nonetheless I'm not complaining. :)

Spent four hours at the hairdressers on Monday. Dont ask me to explain why it takes someone 4 hours to do my hair, but was nice and relaxing with a head and hand massage as well as complimentary makeup, so overall was more like a visit to a day spa than just the hairdressers.

My husband freaked out that I was going to cut my hair too short, and even though I let them trim 3 inches, is still down to my waist.. I think I'm the only chick with long hair who still has a husband who has longer hair than her !!! lol

Yesterday was a great day out too. Met a friend to take photos at the local cemetery. We then went out for a cruisy lunch in a sunny outdoor cafe. Nice....

I think I could get used to this lifestyle.... :)

Holidays

What a lazy so and so... not having made an entry here for weeks! lol

Anyway, have some exciting news. This workaholic has finally put in for some leave from work. I'm taking 3 months off between October and Christmas... to catch up on life... the good stuff! Im gonna do some courses, like photography, learn guitar (finally lol) and paint and write. And when Im not doing these things, I may just laze by the pool. Hmmmm what a nice thought..... Im feeling better already :)

Michael...

Has been an interesting past week with the death of Michael Jackson. Hard to watch a news story without a large portion being dedicated to the latest MJ news. These are my reflections over the past week...

1. MJ clearly led a troubled life... least of not which was reflected in his obsession with bizarre plastic surgery transformations. I read a quote somewhere which was supposedly from one of his plastic surgeons. He said... "MJ wants to change from a black man into a white woman"... strange...


2. Michael had an unusual and questionable relationship with young boys. MJ's good friend Quincy Jones said he could not understand Michael's fascination with having lots of photos of young white boys on his walls. A number of victims reporting sexual abuse have surfaced, on top of which previous employees have supported claims... yet strangely these claimants seem to have withdrawn their claims with undisclosed settlements, believed to be in the millions of dollars. One would wonder why an innocent man would feel the need to pay his victims such substantial payouts?


3. People often canonize others when they die... forgetting their indiscretions and only remembering their triumphs


4. Money can buy most things... and most people... but it certainly cant buy the assurance of happiness.


5. Aside from all this... it must be said that MJ was an exceptional talent... and its likely that he will be remembered as such.

Infomercial madness...

Have you ever woken in the middle of the night unable to get back to sleep? I did last weekend and cause it was too cold to move from under the covers, I turned on the tv. Not sure if its the same as in other countries, but without pay tv, the only thing to watch at 3am is infomercials, which are basically one hour long paid advertisements. So here I am in my semi-comatosed state readily absorbing the nonsense sales pitch for products that likely never sold in shops (hence the need to promote them while people are in a non-lucid state). All I can say is... it was a good thing my phone was out of reach, cause by the time I was ready to click off the tv, I was brainwashed into believing that every home, including mine.... needed an abtrimmer, zumba fitness dvds, and "magic makeup"! Oh my goodness.... shoot me now!!!

AHA moment...

Discovered something new about myself this week.... apparently (so my counsellor leads me to believe)... I AM a workaholic... DAMN!...I don't want to be a workaholic! When did I become one? I have accrued so much personal/sick leave cause rarely get sick. Still have all my long service leave from 14 years compounded. Just used my annual leave up last year on my European holiday (thank goodness for that break!). As it stands, I could probably take a whole year paid leave now..... thinking.... thinking..... dreaming..... mmmmm

Note to self..... Today you will start putting work in the background of your life....

Orgasmic eggs!

Went out for breakfast alone this morning in a nice garden centre cafe. Ordered scrambled eggs in what I imagined would be just a pleasant meal. OH MY GOODNESS! It was the most divine food I have had in quite some time. It started with a base of sourdough toast with a light spreading of home made pesto, topped with scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and red caviar. Sounds a little extravagent for a Sunday breakfast, but hey, its on the menu :)

Well before I realised it, upon eating this delicacy, I was moaning audibly (picture THAT cafe scene from "When Harry Met Sally" and you'll know what I mean! lol). Note to self: public orgasms over food is not socially acceptable! EVER! lol
