Grey thumb...

Decided I needed to get out in the garden today for some fresh air. Was great to spend a few hours out there listening to the birds, breathing the crisp air and turning a blind eye to many of the overgrown weeds. lol

What I DID notice, however, was how pathetic some of my potted vegetables and fruit were developing. The strawberry plant bears no strawberries, the lettuce is barely enough for a sandwhich and the snow peas.... aherm, yes, the monstrosity to the left is in fact meant to be snow peas. Did manage to get ONE pea from the scrub before uprooting it all and planting something slightly more spectacular. They should give me a couple of weeks worth of bragging. lol

I also went in search of a camelia plant to fill a gap in my large raised garden bed. Never leave me unattended in a garden centre or I will come away with 10 times the items I set out to purchase. See below.

Bloody Freezing!

Its been very cold lately... consistently under 10 degrees... which makes it one of our coldest winters in years! Took this photo of an ice covered park. Brrrrrrrr.............

Second week of drawing class. So much fun to be back expressing my creativity. Still a little rusty, but its all coming back to me slowly...

Vivid Sydney

Spent an amazing day in town with some of my best friends, Mel, Deb and Brooke. We did lunch and then ended up spending hours taking photos around the city, in particular of the spectacular sights of Vivid Sydney light display. Photos dont really do it justice.

Art class

Booked myself into a 5 week drawing class which started tonight.

Above is a photo of my work in progress. Not too bad for a rusty old (young ahem) artist. lol I had to rush from work to class without dinner, and upon arriving they were offering everyone a glass of red wine. Because I was parched, I said "ok" (which in retrospect is rather silly for a non-wine drinker who had an empty stomach! lol). Needless to say I enjoyed the night :)

Wooo hoooo!

Got a call today to tell me that I won a $200 travel voucher towards a girls weekend away holiday to Brisbane, which is up in Queensland not far from where my sister lives! Was a competition that I only entered at the last minute because closed yesterday. Woo hoo!!!! :) I had to answer in 25 words or less what my ideal Girls weekend in Brisbane would be, and I think I rambled on about cruising along in a pink stretch hummer drinking pina coladas and singing along to our favourite 80's compilation music!

Alas, you men are likely to not understand! lol

Serves me right!

Moral of the story is... never tell your trainer that you are pissed off and having a sh#t day... he will only make you run faster... and train harder!!! Dammmmmnn!!!!
